Micaela & Samuel

July 23, 2019

Micaela and Samuel chose a brisk but bright winter's day to begin the rest of their lives together. We were treated to a sunlit day with a beautiful early dusk, with their 4 o'clock ceremony perfectly timed for gorgeous streams of golden light to shine through the vines and into the ceremony space. Winter perfection!

The happy couple chose The Vilagrad for their venue, and the team there did an outstanding job at creating a warm and inviting sanctuary for their nuptials and the reception. A highlight was the gorgeous dried autumn leaves intertwined with fairy lights which covered the reception area in a magical canopy that sparkled as the evening went on.

Other high points of the day have to be how truly stunning Micaela looked in her beautiful gown and long, flowing brown waves coming down under her lovely veil. She looked every bit the princess bride. Speaking of Princess Bride, the celebrant had everyone in stitches by opening with some of the lines from the movie - it took everyone by surprise and was truly hilarious.

Another highlight of the day was the Kava Ceremony that took place right before the ceremony itself. It was an awesome way to get the family together and to take a chance to really enjoy the moment with a special tradition.

Micaela and Samuel couldn't have been more accommodating when it came to our team on the day. We found out in the lead up to the wedding that we were expecting, and they were so kind and understanding toward our situation in the lead up to the wedding and on the day itself. We were tickled pink to see a little sweetheart table had been set up for us at the reception, so to give me a chance to get off my feet for our break. It was very thoughtful and just a simple example of the kind of warmhearted, compassionate people Micaela and Sam are. We know they will be very happy together as husband and wife, because you can see they treat each other the same way - with respect and aroha.
