My introduction to Africa wasn't what I expected. We left Cape Town's airport and battled our way to our hire car in the rain, wind and cold. I turned to my fiance from the refuge of the car and said: "Well, I guess it does rain down in Africa?" The weather stayed like this for days.
One of our must-see places in South Africa was Table Mountain, but due to these unexpected weather conditions we were starting to think our chances of seeing the natural wonder were going to be very slim. Luckily, on our last day in Cape Town, the sun appeared and we made a mid afternoon trip to the foot of the mountain.
While there were some brave enough to scale the mountain on foot, we took a cable car all the way to the top. Stepping out of the cable car, the crisp air washed over us we walked out over the flat terrain toward the edge.
What a dream! It's hard to remember the last time I had been up this high or seen something this breathtaking. 360 degree views of Cape Town including the stunning coast, rolling hills, smoky clouds and vibrant city. Take a look for yourself below! These are just some of the stunning views we took in that day.
